Our team works to ensure that all treatments are as comfortable as possible. Still some patients experience anxiety in medical situations such as sitting in the dental chair. For patients who experience dental anxiety, we offer Nitrous Oxide and Oral Sedatives to help them calm down.

Dentistry & Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) can be used alone or in combination with an oral sedative. It provides patients with the ability to feel calm while receiving required dental services.
Nitrous oxide is a clear, odourless gas that, when mixed with oxygen, leaves patients with a warm, floating, almost euphoric sensation. Your dentist will customize the percentage of nitrous oxide for your individual needs.
Nitrous Oxide has no lasting effects, and if used without oral sedation, patients can drive after their appointment. It is typically considered very safe and is even recommended for use in young children.
Oral Sedation & Dentistry
Oral sedatives such as diazepam can be administered the night before or 30 minutes before the appointment depending on the severity of the dental anxiety.
Oral sedatives do not provide pain relief so an injection of local anesthetic is administered.
